Hey, everyone!
Well, since I didn't create a post on Monday, I wanted to do one on Friday to summarize what has been going on in our classroom this past week. :)
What We Have Been Studying:
Math:
We have been reviewing the partial quotients algorithm for division and the traditional algorithm for multiplication. We also did problem solving using both division and multiplication...we have looked for differences in story contexts to let us know which operation is needed to solve the problem. To end the week, we discussed order of operations. We will continue to look at this next week as well as review division and multiplication through menu items.
**Upcoming Assignments and Tests:
- IXL Contract #3- due this Monday, October 5th
- Unit Test Review Page- due Wednesday, October 7th
- Unit Test on Multiplication, Division, and Order of Operations- Friday, October 9th (out of 125 points)
Science:
We looked at Erosion: what it is, what types there are, and how it shows interaction among the spheres. We did an experiment involving wet sand...FUN! We will begin partner projects next week where each pair of students will choose a biome to explore and then model the interactions among the four spheres. More information coming soon!!! :)
**Upcoming Assignments and Tests:
- Project on Sphere Interactions in Chosen Biome- due Friday, October 9th
